BQ thoughts

I think it’s so funny because I was thinking about my big question the other day and maybe changing it to something else but I don’t really remember. So I’m gonna just stick with my original one with why do republicans hate democratic socialist ideas like universal healthcare, taking global warming seriously, gun control, and so much more. Unfortunately I haven’t been working on it outside of school so I’ll be trying to work on it more.

My online me

So I googled myself during my T/A period and I found a very old, outdated twitter account that I don’t use from jr. high and I posted this very inappropriate picture that was supposed to be a joke but now looking back I shouldn’t have posted it because it could possibly ruin someone’s chance at getting a job.

Mindfulness

So this last Friday was senior ditch day and I decided not to go. Meanwhile during 5th period instead of doing our regular routine we got to talk about mindfulness and handling stress. My teacher Dr. Preston told us that when ever he talks to people on campus and asks them how they’re doing they all say the same thing “I’m tired”. So he asked us why we’re so tired but personally I feel like this is the new way of saying you’re on doing so good. Then he told us that simply rubbing your fingers, wiggling your toes or anything that makes you feel human helps with your stress. So over the weekend I tried this technique and it worked because when I was rubbing my fingers I wasn’t foucused on what I was stressing on, I was more focused on my fingers. I thought it was so crazy to me because how could something so simple make someone feel so much better. So I definitely recommend just take some time and rub your fingers or wiggle your toes. :)

The Interdisciplinarity

So for my big question there’s three school subjects that go along with my big question it’s economics, government and history. Economics is a big part of my big question because socialism focuses on everyone helping each other and making everyone equal. Government, because it’s a really big political issue in the U.S right now. History as well because there have been some not good countries that have gone socialist but I feel like if we learn from there mistakes we’ll get it right.

A brave new world chapter 1

Based on just the first chapter of A Brave New World this story is all about a utopia in the future. All the people there are not naturally born but made in a lab to me made perfect and identical to thousands of people. Something that stood out to me a lot is that even in this futuristic society there still is social ranks.
